The Head-end

A 'head-end' is your cable television company's local facility that originates and communicates cable modem and cable TV/telephone services to its subscribers. The cable company's head-end includes CMTS equipment which is needed to provide high-speed Internet access to cable subscribers. It also has other high-tech equipment to bring you digital/analog cable TV.
