The Surfboard

The Surfboard cable modem made by Motorola and can provide you with a broadband internet service. The modem connects to your computer via ethernet cable to the network card in your computer.

The SB4200 is currently the latest Surfboard model Motorla produce, the SB4100 is popular with many ISP's but before it was produced, the Motorola SB3100 was used.

The SB4100 and other newer models have a 'stand-by' button on the front of the modem allowing the user to put the modem on 'stand-by' but not actually disconnect it from the cable network completly. The surfboard also has an internal webserver allowing you to access the Surfboard's 'Configuration Manager'.
